HRBC Weekly Roundup #18
This week's guided meditations, mindfulness practices, and some foundational teachings woven through our reading
When we are reading our books in the Healthy Readers Book Club I read along with everyone else at whatever the pace is — usually 5-8 pages per day. Sometimes I’m a little behind because I’ve gone away for a few days and didn’t bring the book. Or maybe life got busy and I didn’t take the time to read. So then I catch up. Occasionally I get so pulled in to what we’re reading that I read ahead a few pages. Mostly I try to read the set pace so we’re experiencing the book together and exploring the same concepts at the same time.
This week was unusual because there were a couple of shares that were not tied to specific pages in the book. Which highlights part of what I think sets this book club apart from others. We’re not only reading and gathering to discuss, there are guided shares, extra bits that cannot be shared in writing or between the pages of a book. I like how this helps us go deeper into the topic and reveals perhaps more of what the author is sharing. I also feel like this helps us experience the book and the topic on a different level.
